Hey, Michiganders, please vote ‘No’ on Proposal #3 because the language of “individual” (rather than “adult”) is meant to pull teenagers out from under their parents protection. If it changes the law, all of a sudden, teens will be able have abortions, sterilizations, receive contraception–all without the approval of their parents…or even their parents having to be INFORMED! No permission from judges would be needed, either, to exercise such, newfound “rights.”

There are varying opinions on these topics in the public consciousness, and numerous laws are already on the books regarding the who, what, when, and where. These would all be overturned, because the final sentence of the proposal says it would, “invalidate state laws conflicting with this amendment.”

Wow. This is crazy. But we know why people wrote the proposal this way, don’t we? It’s because certain interests want access to the kids! These include perverted older men who prey on young girls, as well as people who see $$$ in offering all these “services.”

Rather than amending the state constitution with such broad strokes, we should continue to address particular concerns with particular laws.
